This Annual Progress Report highlights achievements from the first 180 days following the establishment of the Tanzania Investment Growth Facility (TIGF) in June 2025. In a short period, TIGF moved from inception to active national and international engagement, laying the foundations for a government-anchored platform to
strengthen project preparation and mobilise investment aligned
with Tanzania’s development priorities.

Tanzania covers 945,234 km², with 32.5% designated as wildlife protected areas under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, one of the world’s highest protection ratios. The country hosts 22 National Parks, 27 Game Reserves, 27 Game-Controlled Areas,
1 Conservation Area, 364 Forest Reserves, 9 Coastal Forests, 23 Government Forest Plantations, 14 Bee Reserves, 133 Cultural Heritage Sites, 7 Museums, and 3 Ramsar Sites.
The Tanzania delegation (UNDP Tanzania and ESRF) participated in AFSIC 2025 to showcase the country’s growing portfolio of sustainable and bankable infrastructure projects in the tourism and conservation sectors.
